This was a project for my sophomore 3D Modeling class. We had to design a body extension, either for ourselves or another creature. I thought I would combine two of nature’s most feared and misunderstood creatures into one being, the Spider-Shark. The first 3 images are the concept renderings that I made, to show the Spider-Sharks emerging from the ocean. After the initial renderings, I then 3D printed the legs and attached them to 2 shark models that I bought. The legs are articulated in 3 different joints so that they can be posed. I modeled the legs using Cinema 4D.
Attack of the Spider-Sharks was was exhibited in the Art & Technology Spring 2013 juried exhibition, held in the Hopkins Hall Gallery.
